Photo Scavenger Hunt

I thought we would try something out this week. A photographer that we know started a photo scavenger hunt on a forum that we belong to. I thought it would be fun to try it out here and see what kind of response we get.
Here is the challenge: Take a picture that contains certain elements. It must be a picture that you take. Get your creative juices going!
This week the photo must contain the following elements:
  1. Blue
  2. Round
  3. Three
Email me your pictures (diane@cmaxphoto.com), and I will post them here as a receive them. Next Monday everyone will have the opportunity to vote on the best picture. The winner will get a free portrait session and an 8x10 print from the session. If this goes well, I will make it a regular thing.
To get your creative juices flowing, here are a couple that we did:
This picture has multiple elements, 3 blue chairs, 3 kids dressed in blue, 3 blue pencils in Cameran's hand, 3 blue tassles on Brennen's hat.
Good Luck!

Mila is 6 months

It is hard to believe Mila is already 6 months! She has grown so much just in the last month. She sits up amazingly well, and is starting to figure out the whole crawling thing. For those who don't know, we did Mila's parent's wedding a few years ago and now dad, Matt, works for us part time. We are so glad to have Matt on board, and we look forward to taking many more pictures of Mila, Tamra & Matt!

Kelly & Matt are Married!

What a phenomenal weekend we had! We were very pumped for our first wedding of the new year with Kelly and Matt. We couldn't have asked for a better day, 50 degrees! And we really couldn't have asked for a better couple! We started the day at St Xavier's on the St Louis University campus, a very beautiful church. The flowers were provided by one of our favorite florists Sandra with Petals Galore.

After the ceremony we had the privilege of going to the The Fabulous Fox Theatre for some group shots of the wedding party. The Fox has endless possibilities when it comes to spectacular backgrounds! Needless to say, we were very excited!
Next it was off to Lacledes Landing for some fun pics on the cobblestone streets. We actually ended up in an alleyway!

The reception was held at the St Louis Airport Marriott in the Grand Pavilion. A gorgeous cake was provided by Wedding Wonderland. The high lite of the evening, besides Kelly and Matt of course, was Smash Band! We always know that we are going to have a great time when Smash is the entertainment for the night!
Here are a few of our faves:

The necklace Kelly wore held the diamond from her mom's originally engagement ring.
Kelly with her gorgeous girls!
A few of the boys.
The ceremony at St Francis Xavier's.
This is the grand staircase at The Fox.
After we did a few pictures of the wedding party we were able to take Kelly and Matt around and do some more romantic images.
This next series was an experiment with a technique called "painting with light". We are extremely happy with the outcome!
The temperature started dropping by the time we got to Laclede's Landing, but everyone still knew how to have some fun!
More romantic stuff with Kelly and Matt. I must admit, they made it very easy!
Kelly and Matt's first dance in the Grand Pavilion.
The Band pulled Kelly on stage to sing a little Georgia Satellites, "Keep Your Hands To Yourself".
She was awesome!
Smash had a little Twist contest during the reception.
We like to play a little with the rings during the reception. I absolutely love this ring shot!Kelly and Matt, thank you so much for letting us be a part of your day! We had a blast!

Katherine's Maternity Pictures

We are so excited that Katherine is expecting! We have known Katherine for quite some time now. We photographed both of her brother's weddings, so we have gotten to know the family well. Katherine is also the Music Together teacher for Emmy and Brennen. Classes will start back up in May, we are looking forward to the new addition to class and in the Phillips family! Here are a few faves from the session.

Vote for us, please.

Coby and I need your help. We have entered a contest on the Trash The Dress website.

The contest is for photographers, and we will be featured on the site if we win! It is the sepia contest. The voting is a VERY different way of voting, but a little fun. I think you can vote as often as you like. The directions for voting are on the website.
This is the picture we entered. It might take a while for it to come up.

Once again, go to

Thanks everyone!

Carolyn & Laurin Celebrate 50 Years!

What a great couple to be celebrating 50 years of marriage! They were cracking us up the whole time. When I asked them what their secret is, Laurin spoke up and said: "It is 100% give and take, of course, it depends on who is giving and who is taking. If I am giving money, then she is taking. If she is giving orders, then I am taking!"
Congratulations on 50 years!
