Alyx & Ben are Married!

Last Friday we had the pleasure of photographing Alyx and Ben's wedding in a small church in Godfrey, IL. Alyx and Ben were such a great couple to work with. The reception was held at the Sportsman's Club in Godfrey.
Here are a few of our favs:

I just loved the back of Alyx's dress.

Alyx has some killer eyes!
I asked Ben if he gets mistaken for Conan O'Brian all the time, the answer was yes!

Alyx has three beautiful children. This is Olivia who absolutely LOVED the camera!
Olivia, the flower girl, trying to keep her dress clean.
The three monkeys, Seth, Issac, and Olivia!
Seth had the pleasure of walking Alyx down the isle. I think he was a little proud of his mom, what do you think?

The new Mr and Mrs...This is an old building that we would love to shoot around again.

This is one of my favorite images from the day. I just love when a couple can get so involved with each other that they forget that we are taking their picture!

The fabulous cake is by Wedding Wonderland.Alyx and Ben's first dance. A huge shout had to go out to Lonnie from STL DJ who did a great job!
Alyx and Ben, Thank you for a GREAT time!!!

Cameran & Emmy in Elsah

These are from Labor Day when we were in Elsah. Coby took these of a very hot, hence the sweaty hair, Emmy and Cameran!

This series of three are my favorite from the day.

In case you are wondering, Emmy is wearing a Small Paul Beehive shirt from the Grapevine. I just love that store, if you couldn't tell! How convenient is it that it is right next door to the studio?
If you have a chance, check out the Small Paul website, very cool!

A day of exploring

On Labor day we packed up the kids, met Michael, Jessica and Tim from Gebbs and hit the road for Calhoun County. The story behind the exploration is from Karla & Josh's wedding last Saturday. On our way from the Ceremony to the reception Coby got a glimpse of an abandoned church and thought it would be cool to shoot there. So, we found the church. It was privately owned and the owners were not home. We decided not to shoot around there anyway, due to the 300 or so duck decoys that covered the place!

Off we went with Tim in the lead this time. We came across an abandoned house, but the trees and brush were so thick we couldn't get close to the front. Next we went into Brussels, IL hoping we would have better luck. The best thing we found there was the Whittmond Hotel, a great place to eat. If you are going to go to the Whittmond, be prepared to eat!

We took the Brussels Ferry across the river, and headed to Elsah. The following pictures are from a tunnel that one of our clients told us about.

Dueling videographers Michael and Tim:

Coby messed around with a couple of images he took of Jessica in the tunnel:

I have to admit it was a little creepy in the tunnel, too many spiders for me!
If anyone knows anywhere cool to shoot let us know! We are always looking for out of the ordinary, even run down or abandoned places to shoot.

Karla & Josh are Married!

This past Saturday we drove out to Hardin, IL for Karla and Josh's wedding. They were married in a small church out in the Country, Indian Creek Church of Christ. We started a little early because they decided to see each other before the ceremony. When a couple sees each other before the ceremony we like to set up the meeting so that we can still capture the groom's reaction to seeing his bride for the first time. In Karla and Josh's case we set it up in the church, and asked Karla to walk up to Josh and give him a big squeeze.
Here is one of the resulting images:

As you can see, Karla had an amazing dress:

Karla and Josh, Thanks for a GREAT time! We look forward to seeing you in the future!
