Coby had such a great time with Michele and Steve the other day. They wanted some fun portraits with their one year old baby, Hudson. Isn't he the cutest thing you have ever seen?
What a great time we had last Friday in the Central West End! We met four single young women at Brennan's Wine Bar for a night on the town. Think, Sex in the City meets St. Louis! These four career oriented women, wanted to celebrate their friendship and we are so glad that they asked us to tag along! We absolutely LOVE when our subjects let us experiment and when they get so into it, they start throwing out their own ideas. After Brennan's we headed over to Club Viva for some salsa dancing! What a great club! We had an awesome time watching the girls get out on the dance floor and shake it up! Here are just a few images from the evening:
We had to start out with a little painting with light.
Upstairs at Brennan's is the Maryland House. What a fun place this was. I'll let the pics speak for how cool this place is! First up, the "ode to the sneaker" room.
Next up, the Bottle Bar.
Then is was off to Club Viva!
I want to thank all four girls again, for letting us be a part of your "Single in St. Louis" night!!
Last Friday we were in the Central West End for a shoot, (see next post). While we were there we met Meredith and her date (Sorry, I wish I could remember his name!). They were celebrating Meredith's birthday and I asked them if they wanted their picture taken. So, of course, we did a little painting with light. This was taken in the basement of Brennan's Wine Bar. Happy Birthday Meredith!
I absolutely love when we get to see one of our wedding couple's family grow! Christie and Brian were married a few years ago and then moved to Chicago. We were so glad when they called to let us know that they were going to be in town and wanted to bring Sophia by the studio. We really hope that next time we are in Chicago we can get together with them. Here are a few faves: I just had to put up a couple silly pictures.
I can hardly believe that Coby and I have been married 11 years already! One reason we love our job so much is that every wedding reminds us a little of ours. Over the weekend we had the opportunity to celebrate together without the kids! We had a full day just to spend together. We started out at The Alpine Shop, for those that do not know, that is where I use to work as a buyers assistant. We went over there to check out there annual Bike Swap, which is going on all week.
After the Alpine Shop, Coby insisted that we go to West County Mall so that he could eat lunch at Chick-Fil-A. I know he is a little crazy, but I love him! We had to do a little shopping while we were at the mall.
Next it was on to Lumiere Place for a little gambling and a nice dinner. I am happy to report that we won enough money to cover our whole day! If you have not been to Lumiere Place yet, I highly recommend that you check it out!
Finally, we were able to do a little Urban Painting with Light. I very rarely get in front of the camera, but I let Coby do some experimenting. Here are a few of the resulting images:
Alex came in last week for her Senior session. You would think that Alex was a pro model! That could come from watching America's Next Top Model. She graduates at the end of May and plans on going to college in Chicago to study law. She has a very high GPA, but if the law thing doesn't work out I am sure that she can follow in Tyra Banks footsteps! Here are a few faves:
Last weekend we decided to do a little experimenting with a technique called "painting with light". This style is rather new and it involves total darkness and a flash light. Our good friends, Cathy and Shane were willing to help us out. We had a great time, and Cathy and Shane were great to work with. Let me know what you think.
O.K., I know I am still very behind on posting! We have been nonstop for the past 2 weeks. Last week Michael from Gebbs Total Video came in for a mini photo session. He is about to be written up in Event DV, so he needed some promo shots for the article. Here are a few of Coby's favs:
We are Coby and Diane Maxeiner of CMAX Photography. We started our studio in 1999 as a husband and wife team photographing weddings across the country. We truely enjoy our art and want to be able to share some of it with you on our new blog!
